History of Cape Coral

Cape Coral was built about 40 years ago by two land speculators who believed, th
at the property’s location on the Gulf Coast provided abundant sunshine and brilliant opportunities for waterfront living. The “Rosen” brothers purchased the property, platted the community and created more than 400 miles of canals.

They began a massive campaign that resulted in the sale of nearly all of the 350,000 residential building sites, most to people who lived in other states of the USA.

The city is a large peninsula on the Gulf Coast of Florida and is bordered by the Caloosahatchee River on the east and Matlacha Pass on the west. The city is located about 90 minutes south of Sarasota. Official foundation of the city of Cape Coral has been in 1970 and the town advanced quickly to a favoured hometown for many people, working in the area.

Huge superstores, a growing international gastronomy, an efficient infrastructure, shops and malls for shoes, clothes, for all things everybody needs in everyday life (or during a vacation trip). Although becoming temporarily one of the fastest growing areas in Florida, the city fathers never lost their horizon, while planing the citys future. Today Cape Coral is a modern structured town, connected by bridges to the “main land”. Without high-rise buildings, but noble and luxurious villas, many with their own swimming pools and boat-docks, year round opulent bloomer, citrus and beautiful palm trees.

Villa “Bel Air” is located in a typical american, exclusive residential area of the upper middle – class, afar from the busy roads, to enjoy the quiet neighbourhood. Nevertheless all big supermarkets are within reach in minutes driving time. In 2006 Cape Coral has been described by the “Money Magazine” as one of the “best Places to live in the United States”.
